Visitor Information and Driving Directions

St. Seraphim Orthodox Church welcomes everyone to come and experience the Divine Liturgy with us. All services are in English, and parishioners are always happy to answer questions from first-time visitors. Our church is conveniently located approximately 1/2 mile southwest from the University of Memphis.

From the east on I-40

When you approach the 240 loop, continue straight on to Sam Cooper Blvd. (Once you pass under 240 you are on Sam Cooper Blvd automatically). Proceed to Highland Ave exit. At the bottom of the exit, turn left onto Highland Ave. Follow Highland past Walnut Grove, Poplar, Central, over the railroad tracks to the third street on the right (Carnes). Turn right onto Carnes and go one half-mile until you pass Messick School on the right. St Seraphim Church is the first property past Messick School on the right.

From the west on I-40

Shortly after crossing the river, exit onto 51S (Danny Thomas Blvd). At the end of the exit (stop sign) turn left onto Alabama Ave. Alabama Ave merges with Poplar Ave. Stay on Poplar for about 5 1/2 miles until you see Highland Ave. Turn right onto Highland Ave. Follow Highland past Central and over the railroad tracks to the third street on the right (Carnes). Turn right onto Carnes and go one half-mile until you pass Messick School on the right. St Seraphim Church is the first property past Messick School on the right.

From the west on I-55

After crossing the river, continue straight through to Crump Blvd heading east. Do not take I-55 South. Stay on Crump until you're past 240 and Bellevue Blvd. Crump "automatically" turns into Lamar Ave. One block past Cleveland Ave there is a very obscure sign for Central Ave. Turn left onto Central Ave and follow for about 3 miles to Highland Ave. Turn right onto Highland Ave and cross over the railroad tracks to the third street on the right (Carnes). Turn right onto Carnes and go one half-mile until you pass Messick School on the right. St Seraphim Church is the first property past Messick School on the right.

From the south on I-55

Take 240 east towards Nashville. Exit on Airways Blvd and turn left (north). At Park Ave turn right. At Semmes Ave, turn left. Then turn right on Carnes Ave. We are about a quarter mile down on the left. If you see Messick School on the left, you have driven too far.

From the south on I-78

When you cross over the 240 loop, go three streets to Semmes St. Turn right onto Semmes and wind your way down about 1 3/4 miles (Cross over Park Ave) to Carnes Ave. Turn right onto Carnes. NOTE: If you cross over the railroad tracks at the dead end, you passed Carnes. St Seraphim is about a quarter mile on the left. If you pass Messick School on the left you missed us.
